Straw pellet is the preferred substrate used by poultry and other livestock farmers. The degree of pellet fragmentation and raw material compression, as well as other pellet parameters may be customized depending on customer preference.
The animal bedding we offer is produced during the granulation process at which they are subjected to high pressure and heat treatment at more than 140°C. As a result of this process, the straw is free from microbes, bacteria, fungi and mould. This is confirmed by regularly performed veterinary test in certified laboratories carried out by us and our customers.
Straw bedding in the form of pellet is characterized by 3-4 times higher absorbence, in comparison to ordinary fragmented straw, this quality allows it to absorb higher urine doses minimizing the unpleasant smell of ammonia, as well as reducing animal morbidity factors. Farmers can benefit from manifold advantages owing to these straw pellet characteristics, the bedding does not have to be replaced as frequently, the ideal standards for livestock growth and development are maintained whilst saving time and money.
Benefits of using pellet
Water absorption
The supplied pellet has excellent water binding properties – water absorption is estimated between 350 – 380% of pellet’s own weight – exceedingly more than from chopped straw bedding.
Substrate usage time
The use of pellet extends the service life of the substrate and as a result animal welfare is improved due to the lack of stress associated with substrate replacement.
Bacteria and microbes
Substrate free of bacteria and microbes
Logistics
Pellet takes up several times less space than other types of substrate, moreover it is much easier to store and transport.
Time saving management
Easier and faster bedding and substrate replacement – definite time saver.
